# How to Bulk Edit Prices in Shopify How to bulk edit prices in Shopify with the native Edit prices panel and the bulk editor grid, plus when a dedicated app is worth adding. Shopify has two built-in ways to bulk edit prices, and which one to use depends on whether every product needs the same change. From the Products page, select the products you want, then use Edit prices to set a fixed price or shift every selected price and compare-at price by a percentage or a flat amount. When the new prices differ product by product rather than following one formula, the spreadsheet-style bulk editor lets you type or paste values directly into the price column. Neither tool previews the full set of changes before writing them, and neither has an undo button, so how you check your work before saving matters as much as the price math. ## Using Edit prices for a uniform change Go to Products, filter down to the exact set you want (by collection, vendor, tag, or a saved search), then select the checkboxes for those products. Shopify's action bar shows an Edit prices option once anything is selected. From there you can set a new price outright, or increase or decrease the current price by a percentage or a dollar amount, and apply the same rule to compare-at price independently. There's also a rounding option to keep prices ending in a consistent number of cents. Before you click through, the panel shows how many products and variants are about to change. Read that number. It's the only check you get before the write happens. ## Using the bulk editor grid for mixed values The bulk editor, opened from the Products page toolbar, shows your catalog as an editable grid with configurable columns, including price and compare-at price per variant. This is the better tool when the new prices come from a supplier sheet or a pricing plan you're pasting in, rather than a single across-the-board rule. It has no filter memory between sessions and no built-in check against pasting a column into the wrong place, so double-check the column headers line up with what you pasted before you save. ## What tends to go wrong A percentage change applied to prices that are already marked down compounds the discount, so a planned 15 percent cut can land closer to 25 once it stacks on an existing sale. A filter that's broader than intended pulls in a collection or tag you didn't mean to touch. And a price update that skips compare-at leaves the strike-through display out of sync with the new price.
