Most Shopify bulk editors can change thousands of products in seconds. The problem shows up the moment something goes wrong — a price rule hits the wrong collection, variants get deleted, images get detached — and you discover the “revert” button either doesn’t exist for what you did or quietly fails on exactly the destructive edits you needed it for.
SafeBulk is built the other way around. Safety is the product, not a feature buried in a settings page.
Why “can’t lose your data” is the whole point
Across the public Shopify App Store reviews for the leading bulk editors, the same fear repeats: a bulk edit destroyed data and couldn’t be walked back. Merchants describe deleted variants that revert couldn’t restore, price reverts that “broke and never recovered,” and edits that applied to only part of a catalog with no clear report of what failed.
SafeBulk’s answer is to make the safety net automatic and verifiable, and to be honest about the one thing it genuinely cannot do.
The short version: SafeBulk shows you the exact diff before a job runs, snapshots everything it’s about to change, and gives you a one-click rollback that tells you up front what can and can’t be restored — then re-reads every row afterward to confirm the edit actually landed.
What SafeBulk does in version one
- Filter, edit, preview, apply for products and variants: price and compare-at (set, or adjust by percent or amount), tags, status, vendor, product type, inventory policy, and SEO title and description. Filter by tag, vendor, product type, status, title, or price range.
- A mandatory diff preview on every job — exact before/after rows for every product and variant touched. Nothing applies blind.
- An automatic pre-job snapshot of every entity a job touches, captured before anything changes.
- One-click rollback with an honest “what can and cannot be restored” report shown before you confirm.
- Post-job verification that re-reads every touched row after the job and shows a matched/failed table.
What SafeBulk deliberately does not do yet
Being honest about the edges is part of the pitch:
- No CSV/Excel import-export engine or store migrations. That is Matrixify’s and Altera’s territory, and they are good at it.
- No scheduled or recurring edits yet. Hextom (on its $19.99 plan and up), Ablestar, and NA Bulk Price Editor offer scheduling today; SafeBulk does not.
- No order or customer editing, and no multi-store. Version one edits products and variants only.
Pricing
Flat, and priced against the most-resented thing in this category — meters. A free plan that includes full undo, and Pro at a flat $19/month with unlimited products per job. No per-task caps, no per-row file limits, no per-month change quotas.
Frequently asked questions
Is there really an undo for bulk edits?
Yes. Before a job runs, SafeBulk snapshots every product and variant it is about to touch. One click rolls the job back to that snapshot. This is included on the free plan, not paywalled.
What can SafeBulk <em>not</em> undo?
SafeBulk reverses edits that SafeBulk made. It cannot restore products or variants you deleted through Shopify's own admin, or changes made by other apps — those never pass through our snapshot. We show you exactly what can and cannot be restored before you confirm a rollback.
How much does it cost?
Flat pricing. A free plan that includes full undo, and a Pro plan at $19/month with unlimited products per job. No per-task, per-row, or per-month meters.
Does it edit orders or customers?
No. Version one edits products and variants only. That keeps SafeBulk out of protected customer-data scopes — it only requests read and write access to products.
Can I still import and export CSVs?
Not yet. SafeBulk is an in-admin editor, not a CSV/Excel import-export engine. If you need full import-export or a store migration, Matrixify is the established tool for that.
